Again it is very stable but has the slightest slant.
Leveling aquarium stand on carpet.
Is it more important with a stand on carpet because the carpet could shift the stand.
Most aquarium specific stands have a flat bottom without legs.
If your aquarium is off a bit because your floor is off a bit you are probably better off without shims at all as long as the level from end to end is less then 1 4 off especially if you re talking about a 4 foot or longer aquarium.
However recently i ve been looking to set up another tank that will be on aquarium stand on carpet and it seems leveling the tank is a big deal for that venture.
This is not a how to video this is how i had to relevel my 100g tank while its stocke and scaped.
Does anyone have experience thoughts on a good way to do this.
To level an aquarium it is best to level the furniture or stand the aquarium is sitting on not the aquarium itself.
But enjoy my trial and error if.
Use shims under the stand when needed.
Should i worry about my aquarium on the bar.
I would like to try and prevent potential spills and long term damage to the carpet underneath the tank.
I do not suggest this.
If the stand is level but the tank is not sitting on it properly then an aquarium leveling mat or sheet of styrofoam may be used to smooth out the irregularities.
If gaps are the reason your aquarium isn t level then a mat isn t going to help at all you need to find a way to flatten out the surface.
That s right uneven pressure on the base of your tank.
If your aquarium stand has gaps then a foam mat is going to compress into those gaps.
And you know what that means.
Right next to it both on carpet over concrete foundation is a 47g upright aquarium that is exactly 1 4 inch off level from the left to the right but perfectly level from front to back.
The stand is wood with steel supports on the front two corners.
